We are a week removed from a market that saw the DOW as low as negative 1000 points while the S&P suffered it’s worst one-day fall this year and the worst week in three years. On a positive note the markets showed resiliency and managed to erase large amounts of the losses that investors saw on paper.

Much has been reported about China’s woes being the main culprit for the drop in investor sentiment and selloff. The common belief among market analyst and fund managers throughout the industry is that while China is a cause for concern the recent selloff is not warranted.

With the continuing market volatility one might ask what is going on behind the scenes. If conventional wisdom tells us long term investors to hold and not panic sell……then who is selling?
